Creating With The Creator

Scriptures:

I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.”

 Exodus 31:3 (NLT)

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 (NLT)

Devotional Thought:
In Exodus, we see God appointing and anointing artists — not just with skill, but with His Spirit. This wasn’t just talent; it was a partnership. God poured out His Spirit to empower creative work that reflected His glory.

Jesus echoes this same truth in John 15. He reminds us that true fruit — lasting, meaningful, Spirit-breathed fruit — only comes from abiding in Him. That includes the fruit of your art, your ideas, and your imagination.

Your creativity is not just a hobby or talent — it’s a meaningful way to live out your connection with Christ. When you create with Him at the center, your work becomes a reflection of His Spirit moving through you, bringing life and purpose.

Where in your creative life have you felt disconnected from the Vine?

 • Have you ever sensed the Holy Spirit prompting you toward a creative idea that felt beyond your ability? How did you respond?

 • What fruit do you hope your creative journey produces in your own heart and spirit?
